In that time, he has presented at our Young Professionals Mixer, participated in our monthly B2Bs, and gotten to know several fellow members. We asked him to say a few words about what membership has meant to him and his small business. --- The LGBT Chamber of Commerce of Illinois is one of the most important resources in our community for small businesses and LGBT-identifying professionals. As a solo practitioner providing business-to-business services, I am only successful when I can develop relationships with those who want to learn about my business and build their networks within the LGBT community. The LGBT Chamber understands the importance of those connections to individuals, companies and the business community.
The Chamber’s director, Jerome’ Holston, and its board show a real commitment to their role in helping develop and strengthen those relationships. The Chamber’s networking events and educational programs are among the most helpful opportunities I have found in the city for professional development.
Thanks to the Chamber’s affiliation with the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, its resources stretch far beyond Chicagoland, giving its members the chance to work with new business partners across the country. It introduces Chamber members to corporate and not-for-profit partners across the country.
